- How do I build my family tree?
- Start with yourself, then add parents, grandparents, and other relatives one at a time. Each person gets their own profile with photos, stories, and life events. You can also import an existing tree from Ancestry, MyHeritage, or FamilySearch via a GEDCOM file and have hundreds of ancestors added in one click.
- What view options does the family tree offer?
- Three views are included: a fan chart that shows ancestors radiating outward in a beautiful semicircle, an ancestor line for traditional top-down layout, and an hourglass view that shows both ancestors and descendants at once. You can switch between views at any time without losing data.
- Can I import my existing family tree from Ancestry or MyHeritage?
- Yes. Export a GEDCOM file from Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch, or any other genealogy platform and import it into MyLegacySpace in one click. Your tree, relationships, and life events transfer over. You can also export your MyLegacySpace tree back to GEDCOM anytime — your data belongs to you.
- How many people can be in my tree?
- There is no hard limit on the number of people in your family tree on any plan. Storage limits apply to photos, videos, and documents — the Free plan includes 2GB, Family 15GB, and Legacy Pro has unlimited storage.
- Can I connect to relatives who have their own MyLegacySpace tree?
- Yes, through Legacy Links on the Family plan or higher. When your tree shares ancestors with another tree on the platform, we can identify the match and let both families opt in to connect branches — turning two separate trees into one shared history.
